And he did it just before their official release date on February 13.
On February 4, 5 and 6, McKinney saw preorders of his new self-help/inspirational book The Tap climb an astonishing 302,566 percent on Amazon.com, as it leapfrogged almost a million other titles among the online bookseller’s inventory to hold the top spot as Amazon’s bestselling inspirational title.
It wasn’t alone on the lists, with Dead Fred, Flying Lunchboxes, and the Good Luck Circle, McKinney’s first foray into young reader fiction, landing at #2 in children’s fiction books about animals. The fantasy inspired by tales created during walks to school with his daughter also came in at #5 for teen adventure/thriller books.
Amazon shoppers also snapped up copies of Burst This! Frank McKinney’s Bubble-Proof Real Estate Strategies, which hit #3 as the top real estate title.
Bestselling charts are big news in the publishing industry, yet McKinney gratefully calls them “chicken feed” – literally – since proceeds of all three books go to his Caring House Project Foundation which can buy a chicken for $8.15 to help create a self-sustaining existence for poor and homeless families. Founded in 1998, the foundation’s outreach includes providing orphanages, schools, homes, food resources, potable water, and social facilities in impoverished countries such as Haiti.
