Ducks returning for Seventh Annual Kids In Distress Duck Fest Derby are ready to be “adopted”

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Ducks are now on sale for the seventh annual Duck Fest Derby, benefiting Kids In Distress of Broward and Palm Beach counties (KID) and presented by JM Family Enterprises Inc. The ducks will take their marks and race down the New River as part of the event, which is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16 at Esplanade Park, 400 S.W. 2nd St. in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The race begins at 3:30 p.m.

Individual ducks can be “adopted” for $5 each by visiting http://www.duckfestderby.org. Ducks are also available for purchase on the day of the race.

The grand prize for the winning duck is a four-day, three-night stay at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas with airfare from Spirit Airlines. Additional prizes include a seven-day cruise for two aboard a Norwegian Cruise Line ship, an iPad donated by Best Buy, two VIP tickets to the 2013 Jingle Bell Ball with a backstage meet and greet, a 2013 NASCAR Ford Championship weekend ticket package, a foursome at Grande Oaks Golf Club and more.
