Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center (CDTC) concluded its 15th Annual Ribbons for the Children Art Exhibition & Auction on September 23, raising $45,000 for the non-profit that provides family-centered, comprehensive prevention, intervention and treatment services to children and youth with special health care needs living in Broward County.
“Ribbons for the Children continues to evolve. This year we expanded our Ribbons colors to recognize and support all of our children’s diagnoses. From our original Red Ribbon recognizing our families living with HIV/AIDS to the Yellows representing our children battling down syndrome and obesity and the Blues promoting awareness of diabetes and developmental disabilities,” said Maria Pierson, event co-chair and CEO of Pierson Grant Public Relations. “The funds raised directly benefit the most vulnerable in our community.”
The virtual interactive auction offered more than 100 pieces of original artwork featuring a diverse collection paintings, sculptures, wildlife photography, mixed media art and bid-worthy silent auction packages. Artworks displaying intimate messages from the artists who shared their inspiration were promoted on social media and auctioned off during a multi-week fundraising campaign.
“We are incredibly grateful to our generous sponsors and the 65 local artists who graciously donated their time and talent to support CDTC’s vital mission,” said Chuck Williams, one of Ribbons for the Children’s event founders and current co-chair. “We’re especially proud that 100% of proceeds will directly support CDTC’s care coordination and critical medical and dental services.”
