Revolutionary coating technology improves patient comfort
ABB OPTICAL GROUP announced that its specialty lens lab has been approved by Contamac to manufacture gas permeable contact lenses in the Optimum® line of GP materials with Tangible Hydra-PEG™ surfaced coating technology.
Tangible Hydra-PEG is a novel contact lens coating technology that encapsulates the Optimum GP material in an ultra-thin layer of a PEG-based polymer (polyethylene gylcol), creating a lens surface with improved wettability and lubricity. Specifically designed to prevent lens discomfort, Tangible Hydra-PEG is the only FDA-cleared GP coating of its kind.
