ABB Optical Group Relaunches Annual ABB Cares Program

Eye care professionals are encouraged to nominate community organizations beginning August 2 for grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000

ABB Optical Group (ABB), a leading provider of optical products and business solutions in the eye care industry, has announced the return of its signature community grants program, ABB Cares. Launched in 2014, the program has awarded more than $75,000 in grants to non-profit organizations across the country. Applications for the program will be accepted beginning Monday, August 2.

“After a challenging year, the ABB Cares program is needed now more than ever,” said ABB Optical Group Chief Executive Officer Tom Burke. “Non-profits across the country were severely impacted by the pandemic. Our hope is that through this program, we can lend support in helping them get back on track. We are so grateful to the eyecare professionals that continue to bring these special charities to our attention, and we are excited for this year’s program and the impact it will have on so many in our local communities.”

This year, ABB will award one ABB Cares Platinum Grant of $5,000, one Gold Grant of $2,500 and one Silver Grant of $1,000 to charities nominated by professionals in the eye care industry, including optometrists, opticians and office staff. Organizations do not need to focus on eye health to qualify for a grant.

  • the organization’s local office must be within 30 miles of the nominating practice’s primary location;
