ArtServe recently spotlighted the rising stars in South Florida’s art community during its annual juried fine art exhibition, ArtBRAVO. Featuring works from 92 artists from more than 40 municipalities in South Florida, ArtBRAVO showcased the region’s top talent and awarded a total of $1,250 in cash prizes.
“ArtBRAVO is one of our most dynamic and exciting annual exhibitions. Since it’s a juried art show, the participating artists pull out all the stops and submit their greatest works. The result is an extraordinary display of mixed-media artwork created by artists from all backgrounds and disciplines.”
ArtServe General Manager Hal Axler
Jurors Maria Napoles of the Latin American Art Pavilion and Taryn Möeller Nicoll of The Frank determined the winners. First place and a cash prize of $250 was awarded to Richard Yasko for his piece, “Mystery of Flight,” and second place to Raul Proenza for his piece, “Metamorfosis.” The Best in Show and a cash prize of $1,000 was awarded to Sergio de la Flora for his piece, “Sculpture of a Reality.”
The Online Favorite, determined by a vote from viewers of the online gallery, was Eloisa Henriques for her piece, “Nude Dreams 2.” The People’s Choice Award, determined by an in-person vote by attendees of the gallery reception, was a tie between Frank Papandrea for “The Kiss” and Josias Valero for “Psychedelic Hibiscus.”
