The Broward Center for the Performing Arts manages the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center, a 14,864-square-foot, 330-seat waterfront complex that hosts performing arts, cultural and educational programming for all ages.
Aventura Arts & Cultural Center has implemented a number of changes to ensure an enjoyable experience. Health & safety guidelines have been developed in conjunction with its management company, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, and in collaboration with Cleveland Clinic and have been informed by guidance of public health officials including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). These guidelines will be continuing to evolve as the environment changes, and may be accessed on the venue’s website.

After being banned from filmmaking for life and sentenced to jail, Iranian director Mohammad Rosoulof returned with There is No Evil, the winner of more than a dozen awards at film festivals in the U.S. and abroad including the Golden Bear Award for best film at the Berlin Film Festival. The film offers four tales of those given death penalties by the state and those ordered to carry it out. According to Variety, “‘There Is No Evil’ comes across as four films for the price of one, none of its segment’s anemic, and each contributing fresh insights to the paradoxes of capital punishment in Iran.” Not rated, this film is in Farsi with English subtitles and is not suitable for children under 12. Kicking off the Aventura Broadway Concert Series is Shoshana Bean, a veteran of the Broadway stage. Bean made her debut in the original cast of Hairspray, starring as the very first replacement for Elphaba in Wicked and most recently as Jenna in Waitress. This award-winning drama with a universal story tells the story about an African American family in the ‘50s. The members of the Younger family dream bigger than the small house where they live on the south side of Chicago. When their deceased father’s insurance money comes through, those dreams might actually become a reality. Walter Lee wants to run his own business and earn financial independence, but his sister Beneatha dreams of attending medical school .Meanwhile, their mother Lena wants to move them all to a bigger home in a white neighborhood. What will finally allow the Youngers to move up in the world, and who will have their dreams deferred?

When a fairy named Puck accidentally misapplies a love potion and purposefully transforms an actor into a donkey, it will take more than magic to set things right. The Miami International Piano Festival presents Fabio Martino in a program of works by Sergei Bortkiewcz ,Carlos Guastavino, Nicolai Medtner and Hector Villa Lobos. This Brazilian pianist has won has more than 20 international piano competitions, including the BNDES International Piano Competition, the most important contest in Latin America. Martino doesn’t only draw in the audience with his virtuoso playing; he also thrills them with his South American charm. As an international soloist Fabio Martino has played not only the well-known piano concertos by Prokofjew, Rachmaninov, Beethoven, Mozart, Schumann, Bartók and many others, but also the rarely played works by Villa-Lobos, Medtner, Guarnieri or Mignone, with equally success and enthusiasm from the audience. The Miami International Piano Festival presents Russian sensation Nikolay Khozyainov, 28, in a Tribute To Chopin. Born in Blagoveshchensk in far eastern Russia, he made his debut at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory at age seven in a Handel piano concerto. He won first prize at the Dublin International Piano Competition, second prize at the Sydney International Piano Competition, and was a finalist at the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition. Since capturing the Gold Medal, BBC Audience Award, and Contemporary Music Prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition, Ilya Itin has performed throughout the world to rave reviews and sold-out houses. The Miami International Piano Festival presents Itin in a program of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Partita No 6 in E minor, Rachmaninoff’s Etudes-Tableaux Op. 39 and Rachmaninoff’s arrangement of Bach’s Prelude, Gavotte and Gigue from Violin Partita No 3 in E major. Itin is equally at home playing music from Bach to Cage. He is on the teaching faculties of the Musashino Academy, Tokyo, the Graduate Program at CUNY, and the Golandsky Institute at Princeton and is a frequent guest teacher in the piano department at the Juilliard School and Peabody Conservatory. The Miami International Piano Festival season at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center culminates with Ariel Lanyi in a program of works by Schumann, Albéniz and Beethoven. Born in Jerusalem in 1997, Lanyi completed his studies earlier this year, receiving a full scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He has performed widely across Europe and regularly appears in concerts broadcast live on Israeli radio and television, as well as on Radio France. As soloist he has appeared with a variety of orchestras, including the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, playing Brahms’s 2nd concerto, and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, playing the Mozart C minor concerto. This timeless ballet is a favorite of dancers and audiences alike about the love story of a young girl Swanilda and her boyfriend Frantz. The couple believes a doll named Coppelia is a real girl and Frantz starts flirting with the adorable puppet. The City of Aventura presents Emmy nominee Michael Londra, the Irish singer best known as the voice of Riverdance on Broadway, as he unwraps Christmas from Ireland told in song, dance and the festive stories of his youth. The show includes heartwarming Irish carols like “Winter, Fire and Snow” and Gaelic versions of Christmas songs you will love such as “Oiche Ciuin” (“Silent Night”) and his own popular carol “Beyond the Star.” Classical Irish musicians join Michael onstage as well as dancers from Riverdance and Lord of the Dance.

When the fairy Puck accidentally misapplies a love potion and transforms an actor into a donkey, it will take more than magic to set things right.
