ORLANDO, Fla. (November 19, 2014) – With hopes of brightening the holidays for the young patients at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, BankUnited is holding a toy drive at its five Orlando-area branches now through December 17 to help stock Santa’s workshop, ensuring that every child in the hospital on Christmas day receives a gift.
“Hospital employees really go above and beyond to spread holiday cheer to the more than 250 children hospitalized or in the emergency room on Christmas Day,” said Michael McClanahan, BankUnited senior vice president and Central Florida market executive. “BankUnited is happy to do what we can to bring smiles to these young patients’ faces and joy to their hearts.”
While the need is greatest for infants and teens, gifts are needed for all age groups. Anyone wishing to donate new, unwrapped toys may drop off items during branch hours, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, at the following locations:
- 44 East Central Boulevard, Orlando
- 2495 South Orange Avenue, Orlando
- 945 Semoran Boulevard, Casselberry
- 510 East Altamonte Drive, Altamonte Springs
- 4406 West Lake Mary Boulevard, Lake Mary
Suggested items include: crib mobiles, teethers, rattles, educational toys, board books, watches, jewelry, nail polish, handheld fans, make-up, handheld games, new DVDs, and gift cards to Target, the movie theater and Wal-Mart.
