In 2022, Pierson Grant Public Relations was retained by the Broward College Foundation to assist in elevating one of its signature events, the R. Motwani Family Academy of Hospitality & Tourism Management gala. The goal of the annual event is to raise scholarship funds for deserving students, enabling them to achieve their hopes and dreams of a successful hospitality career.
Our agency has been a trusted partner in the hospitality and tourism industry for years. Because we also currently represent Visit Lauderdale, the destination marketing organization for Greater Fort Lauderdale, Pierson Grant was able to make key introductions for the Motwani Gala that resulted in enhanced event sponsorships and industry interviews with local luminaries that helped to underscore the economic importance of hospitality and tourism to the local economy.
Event execution included design and production of all marketing collateral, scripting and production of an impactful highlight video and writing and placing persuasive bylined Opinion pieces on behalf of the Academy’s dean. This, along with traditional PR, resulted in extensive media coverage for the Motwani Gala and Broward College.
Pierson Grant was able to shape a greater story behind the gala’s mission of inspiring students, faculty and leaders at the Academy. Our layered public relations efforts hit all touchpoints, including addressing the needs of the hospitality industry across South Florida and positioning Broward College as the premier educational provider in developing the leadership, communication and management skills necessary to succeed in this most essential industry.
The successful culmination of Pierson Grant’s efforts for this project led to an expanded public relations role where we now work alongside Broward College and Broward College Foundation to amplify their missions throughout the year.
