For the third consecutive year, Excel Construction of Florida collected and donated boxes filled with backpacks, notebooks, paper, markers, pencils, scissors and more to ensure that Broward County students in Title I Schools, at risk youth and children with special needs head back to school prepared to learn.

The Excel Construction of Florida team and other generous local residents came together to donate school supplies for Broward Education FoundationChildren’s Harbor and Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center (CDTC). The community collection was hosted by The Bite Eatery in Pompano Beach.

“Giving back to the community, particularly when it comes to children, families and education, is part of our culture at Excel,” said Excel Construction of Florida President Eric Wolf. “We’re proud to be involved in back-to-school drives because we know how important it is to begin the school year with the tools needed to succeed in the classroom. My mom and my wife were both teachers, so I know first-hand the needs in the classroom. We are always happy to help and appreciate that we have support from our vendors who also donate.”

The BITE Eatery, a popular and one-of-a-kind Pompano Beach-based “food hall” designed to be a lively community social hub that nurtures local culinary talent and celebrates international cuisine, was the ideal spot for people to gather and drop off needed back-to-school supplies.

Guests were offered “bites” and craft cocktails from the diverse restaurants onsite, including flavorful ceviche, Cuban specialties, Maine lobster rolls, deli sandwiches, Asian fusion bowls, artful desserts and ice cream treats. Unlike a typical food court, The Bite Eatery is a fun experience for groups featuring live music, culturally diverse and sophisticated cuisine and a lively bar scene.  Patrons can order from their tables, the BITE Bar, or any of the nine restaurants without having to get up or muddle through separating checks.

The BITE Eatery is located at 2715 E. Atlantic Blvd, Pompano Beach, FL 33062. For more information visit thebiteeatery.com.
