~Funds raised benefit ocean conservation~
When Dr. Guy Harvey launched his company 30 years ago, he was focused on saving our seas and the marine life that inhabit them. Today, that mission is more critical than ever for the world-renowned artist, scientist, diver, angler, conservationist and explorer.
Harvey will celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary and at the same time raise funds for ocean conservation during the 9th Annual Ocean Foundation Banquet on Saturday, November 5 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale.
Fiercely devoted to his family and his love of the sea, Harvey gave up a budding career as a marine biologist for that of a highly acclaimed artist. He has continued his relentless pursuit to unravel the mysteries of the sea, traveling the world to better understand the habits and habitats of the marine wildlife he paints.
The 30th anniversary-themed banquet benefits the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, which emphasizes sensible strategies for promoting ocean conservation and the development of the next generation of marine scientists. The foundation funds research and educational programs developed by universities, colleges, institutes and nonprofit organizations.
Tickets are $300 per person and $2,500 for a table of 10. Guests will enjoy live musical entertainment, dinner, open bar, a live and silent auction with original artwork, exciting trips and unique gifts, and a look back at the various adventure expeditions and research findings from 2016.
