NAIOP South Florida Announces 2022 Awards of Excellence Finalists

South Florida’s trusted commercial real estate development association to celebrate at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on March 10

NAIOP South Florida, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, has announced the Awards of Excellence finalists for 2022 and confirmed Thursday, March 10 for the 43rd Awards of Excellence reception and dinner at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, 1 Seminole Way.

The annual celebration, which acknowledges excellence throughout the South Florida commercial real estate (CRE) industry, will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

“It has been a landslide year for South Florida’s commercial real estate industry as businesses continue to migrate to the area, and growth opportunities for our sector abound,” said NAIOP South Florida Executive Director Jules R. Morgan. “We’re looking forward to celebrating the top players in our industry and the tremendous achievements of our lifetime achievement award recipients Foundry Commercial Managing Director of Development and Investments Ford Gibson and Avison Young Principal Pike Rowley.”

Ford Gibson will finally be recognized in-person this year for his 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award at the start of the pandemic. Gibson is 35-year commercial real estate industry veteran whose development portfolio includes more than 16.5 million square feet of office, retail, industrial, manufacturing, and multifamily projects throughout the east coast and Florida.

Formerly president of Codina Group, Gibson was instrumental in the company’s growth and during his tenure Codina’s Medical Arts Building at Baptist won the BOMA Worldwide Building of the Year. Gibson is the four-time winner of Developer of the Year and Project of the Year award winner from NAIOP South Florida. He is also a two-time winner of Industrial Association of Dade County Developer of the Year.

A principal at Avison Young,  Pike Rowley has more than three decades of experience in commercial real estate with expertise in office and industrial leasing, property management, and acquisitions and disposition. Among his greatest achievements, Rowley built Avison Young into one of the largest brokerage firms in the state, which in 2021 alone closed more than $2 billion in transactions and managed over 30 million square feet of industrial, office and retail space for corporate, private, and institutional clients.

Prior to his roles at Avison Young, Rowley built and sold Property Trust Realty, was a leader at Condina, Flagler and Rowley Group all prominent commercial real estate firms in Florida. Rowley was co-founder of the South Florida Office Brokers Association, has served as president of NAIOP South Florida and has been awarded Broker of the Year from both BOMA and NAIOP.

“This year’s Awards of Excellence will be held for the first time ever at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, bringing renewed energy to our association and all of our members following many virtual meetings,” noted Stephanie Rodriguez, Awards of Excellence chair and regional senior vice president of Duke Realty. “We have a lot to be thankful for, as our industry continues to gain further momentum moving into 2022.
