Miramar Cultural Center | ArtsPark Announces the 2013-2014 Opera Series

MIRAMAR – The Miramar Cultural Center | ArtsPark and presenting sponsor Novus Realty, LLC are proud to announce the 2013 -2014 Opera Series featuring L’Elisir D’Amore and Great Moments In Italian Opera. Both operas are accompanied by full orchestra and English subtitles.

One of opera’s most beloved comedies, L’Elisir D’Amore (The Elixir of Love), will be staged on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. This new production by Gaetano Donizetti centers on a small village in the Basque Country at the end of the 18th century and tells the story of a magic love potion and the destiny of a love triangle involving a lovable bumpkin, a dashing sergeant and the bewitching town flirt. After the arrival of a doctor further complicates the romantic entanglement, an amazing number of situations reverse themselves. Is it really the result of the potion purveyor’s “elixir of love?”

On Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 7:30 p.m., Great Moments in Italian Opera showcases international artists performing audience favorites including Verdi, Puccini and more.

Teatro Lirico D’Europa is a nonprofit opera touring company created in 1988. The popular company has completed 13 seasons of U.S. tours as well as over 4,000 performances in Europe. The company’s mission is to bring affordable full-scale opera productions to theatres around the globe and to showcase soloists from different countries and cultures.
