Young At Art Museum Presents: “Alex’s Lemonade Stand and Monica Screening” Featuring Bailee Madison

Proceeds from sales of lemonade benefit childhood cancer research

DAVIE, Fla. — Young At Art Museum, animator and educator Rob Cabrera and actress Bailee Madison will team up on Saturday, June 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to host “Alex’s Lemonade Stand and Monica Screening,” in support of childhood cancer. The event will be held at Young At Art Museum, 751 S.W. 121 Ave. in Davie.

At the event, visitors will have the opportunity to buy lemonade from Madison at “Alex’s Lemonade Stand,” with proceeds benefiting childhood cancer research. “Alex’s Lemonade Stand” is a non-profit foundation that encourages children nationwide to raise money to find a cure for childhood cancer by hosting their own lemonade stands. In 2012, Madison was named the foundation’s National Youth Spokesperson.

Madison, whose most recent big-screen appearance was in Parental Guidance, provides the voice for the main character Monica in the cartoon feature of the same name, created by cartoonist and Young At Art resident artist Rob Cabrera. Known for his previously syndicated comic strip Silo Roberts, Cabrera is the founder of Creative Squirrels, LLC and also teaches cartooning classes at Young At Art Museum. He collaborated with Madison for Monica, the first of three in his cartoon series.

Admission to the Museum, which includes the screening of Monica, is $13 per person; $12 for seniors and children over age 1 and $11 for Broward County residents. For more information, please call Young At Art Museum at 954-424-0085 or visit YoungAtArtMuseum.org.
