Pineapple Jam Returns to Stranahan House April 13

Support Broward County’s oldest and most historic home with this one-of-a-kind Party in Paradise for Preservation!

On Friday, April 13, trade in your black-tie attire for “tropical chic” and join us for a Party in Paradise for Preservation – the Historic Stranahan House Museum’s annual Pineapple Jam!

Starting with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m., guests will mix and mingle with the best of Broward, jam to Jimmy Stowe’s Trop-Rock Trio, enjoy Floribbean cuisine and a premium open bar, and bid on exclusive auction items and experiences.

All proceeds support the preservation and education programs of the Historic Stranahan House Museum, the oldest and most historically significant site in Broward County. Built in 1901, Stranahan House is recognized as the birthplace of Fort Lauderdale. It was home to the area’s first businessman, Frank Stranahan, and the first schoolteacher, Ivy Cromartie Stranahan. The House opened as a museum in 1984.

Today, Stranahan House welcomes more than 3,500 fourth-grade students and 20,000 visitors annually, making it one of the top cultural attractions in Fort Lauderdale.

“As Broward County continues to flourish as a vibrant and dynamic destination, we are grateful for the community’s support in preserving the local history for future generations,” said Executive Director April Kirk of the Historic Stranahan House Museum. “We hope you’ll join us for our signature fundraiser and celebration of our community’s past and future. With a live band and an array of delicious food and drinks, it will truly be a Party in Paradise for Preservation.”

The event is chaired by Kirk and Maggie Gunther of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance. Sponsors of Pineapple Jam include EDSA, TrippScott, Wells Fargo, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, Northern Trust, Hotwire Communications and Lilly Pulitzer. Fort Lauderdale Media Associates and its magazines, Las Olas Boulevard & Isles, Rio Vista & Fort Lauderdale Harbors and Harbor Beach, serve as the media sponsor.

Tickets are $150 and advance registration is required. Tickets can be purchased online at www.tinyurl.com/PineappleJam18. For sponsorship opportunities, contact April Kirk at 954-524-4736 or director@stranahanhouse.org.
