The Fourth Annual Interest Art Exhibition/Reception Is at Young At Art Museum on January 30

DAVIE, Fla. — Join Young At Art Museum and the Bedlam Lorenz Assembly (BLA), for the Fourth Annual Interest fundraiser/opening reception on Friday, January 30 at 7:30 p.m., at the Museum, 751 S.W. 121 Ave. in Davie.

Presented by BLA, a cooperative contemporary arts and alternative projects group, and curated by Zack Spechler, Annual Interest will feature works of South Florida artists in an interactive venue inside the Museum’s Knight Foundation Gallery. Following the reception, the exhibition will remain open to the general public until Sunday, May 3.  Also on display at the Museum will be two solo exhibitions: Orbiting Cathedrals by California-based artist Sri Prabha and a site-specific immersive-installation by Miami-based artist Guerra De La Paz, which will encompass the Museum’s Knight Gallery.  Both exhibits will be on display through May 3.

During the Annual Interest opening reception, guests will have a chance to participate in BLA’s fourth-annual art drawing, giving collectors and the public a chance to take home original works from some of today’s most exciting artists.

“BLA’s goal for Annual Interest is to provide a platform to support emerging artists, while strengthening Young At Art’s collection and helping to educate children and families, especially about the artists in our community,” said Spechler. “This event keeps growing each year and last year we raised more than $25,000 for the Museum.”

Proceeds from the drawing will benefit Young At Art Museum and BLA’s artist workshops, exhibitions and year-long interactive programming.

Guests also will enjoy an exhilarating evening filled with music and interactive art activities such as ceramics, recording sessions, printmaking and digital photography in the YAA Institute studios. A craft beer and gourmet cheese tasting by Goldcoast Beverage Distributors and Whole Foods Market, Plantation & Pembroke Pines, as well as cocktails and tastings by dozens of South Florida restaurants will be creatively presented throughout the Museum

Sponsors for Annual Interest include Goldcoast Beverage Distributors; Whole Foods Market, Plantation & Pembroke Pines; BankUnited; Bascombe Properties; Kogan Prober, P.A.; Cindy Cossin, Diane Weinbrum and Jay Spechler.

General admission tickets are $50 per person. Art raffle tickets also are available for $300, which include two general admission tickets and purchase of one of the works of art, valued greater than the ticket price.
