The Our Fund Foundation and Community Foundation of Broward Award $300,000 in Grants From the 2024 LGBTQ+ Social Justice & Equity Fund

The Our Fund Foundation and the Community Foundation of Broward awarded 10 non-profit organizations a total of $300,000 in grants through the organizations’ collaborative 2024 LGBTQ+ Social Justice & Equity Fund which supports innovative projects that address discrimination and disparities faced by the LGBTQ+ community in Broward County.

“The LGBTQ+ community is in an extremely vulnerable position with continual attacks and political and social forces attempting to revive discriminatory policies,” said David Jobin, president and CEO of The Our Fund Foundation. “The LGBTQ+ Social Justice & Equity Fund is one of many ways we’re attempting to meet the moment thanks to the backing of supporters who understand the need for a meaningful philanthropic response at this critical time.”

Formed in 2022 by the two respected foundations with the goal of creating a more informed and empathetic environment for the LGBTQ+ population, the strategic partnership combines critical philanthropic resources and expertise for the benefit of the LGBTQ+ community and all residents of Broward County.

“We are proud to partner with The Our Fund Foundation to make a real difference in the LGBTQ+ community.” said Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson, Ph.D., President/CEO of the Community Foundation of Broward. “Many thanks to our amazing volunteers who poured over the grant applications and chose projects with the potential to change lives. These grants are a bold step forward in our longstanding mission to ensure everyone in Broward’s LGBTQ+ community is treated with equity, dignity, and respect. It’s a powerful reminder of the incredible things we can achieve when we work together.”

Each nonprofit grantee was thoroughly vetted by a joint selection committee and will receive between $29,000 – $50,000.
