Rachel Richal, Director of Training for TooJay’s Deli, has joined the Board of Directors of the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers (CHART) for 2018-2019. CHART is a non-profit professional association and leading resource for the development and advancement of hospitality training professionals and their organizations, with more than 500 members from more than 300 multi-unit restaurant and hotel companies.
“I’m honored to be invited by my hospitality industry peers to join the CHART Board of Directors and collaborate with this outstanding group of professionals,” said Richal. “I look forward to sharing insights and best practices that expand my training skills in ways that continually enhance the TooJay’s team member and guest experience.”
Richal has been involved with CHART since 2013, participating since then as a presenter and team member on three conference teams. In 2018, she was appointed Conference Director for CHART’s 96th Hospitality Training Conference, which took place in Boca Raton in July.
Richal joined TooJay’s in 2003 as a server. She became a Corporate Trainer in 2007 and was promoted to Director of Training in 2013. Her responsibilities include designing and facilitating leadership development and performance improvement programs for team members, supporting operational initiatives and coordinating new restaurant openings and remodels. In addition to remodeling its existing restaurants with a contemporary new look, TooJay’s continues to open new restaurants and expand to new markets throughout Florida. Opening are planned for Naples, Fort Lauderdale and Dania for the first half of 2019.
Richal earned a bachelor’s of Science in Hospitality Management from the University of Central Florida and resides in Boynton Beach.
