Voting to Begin for 2011 Design a Greener Future Recycling Bin Contest
WHO: Broward County Solid Waste and Recycling Services, Young At Art Museum and Whole Foods Market
WHAT: Are sponsoring the 2011 Design a Greener Future Recycling Bin Contest which is open to all Broward County elementary school students.
CALL TO ACTION: The community is invited to vote online at http://www.broward.org/waste to choose their favorite recycling bin designs.
WHEN: Voting begins Monday, Oct. 24 and ends at midnight on Sunday, Oct. 30.
WINNERS: Students from the top five winning classes will receive a field trip to Young At Art Museum for an awards ceremony with lunch hosted by Whole Foods Market.
EXHIBITION: On Saturday, Nov. 19, during Young At Art’s Recyclemania Celebration, the winning bins will be on display at the Museum and will remain on display through Wednesday, Nov. 30.
ABOUT THE CONTEST:
Created to promote America Recycles Month and designed to spark an interest in recycling with elementary school aged children throughout Broward County, The Design A Greener Future Recycling Bin Contest uses art education in a fun way to promote early on the importance of recycling and protecting the environment.
