Public invited to join a free, art-filled celebration from noon to 5 p.m.
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The public is invited to join Young At Art Museum, the Housing Authority of the City of Fort Lauderdale, the Community Foundation of Broward and valued community sponsors for the Second Anniversary Party at YAA ArtHouse @ Northwest Gardens, 821 N.W. 12th Terrace in Fort Lauderdale, on Saturday, March 12 from noon to 5 p.m. During the celebration, the new gardening project at ArtHouse will be unveiled.
Visitors to YAA ArtHouse also will enjoy free hands-on art activities; refreshments by Refresh Live; a nutrition workshop by Chef Chad and Karen Cherry; art & gardening workshops; face painting and spoken word performances by residents of all ages who reside in the 33311 zip code.
“Two years ago, we created a mini-extension of the Museum’s YAA Institute, with professionally equipped stations for painting, drawing, ceramics and printmaking, and to date, we have served more than 4,000 residents of Northwest Gardens,” said Young At Art Museum Executive Director/CEO Mindy Shrago. “We are thrilled at how our programs here continue to grow and we hope ArtHouse serves as a model for other cities to create strong communities through the power of art.”
