YAA Day @ Marlins Park Set for Friday, June 26

Special Game Day Benefits Marlins Foundation Charity Partner Young At Art Museum

DAVIE, Fla. – For the second consecutive year, Young At Art Museum has been chosen as one of the Marlins Foundation’s four charity partners for 2015, and this year is the only Broward County organization to receive this honor. Through this partnership, Young At Art Museum will be the recipient of $5 from every $25 ticket sold for the Los Angeles Dodgers at Miami Marlins game on Friday, June 26 at 7:10 p.m. during YAA Day @ Marlins Park. The Marlins Foundation also will present a check for $25,000 to Young At Art during a pregame ceremony. YAA Day @ Marlins Park is part of the Marlins’ Nickelodeon Theme Friday and tickets for the game can be purchased online at: http://miami.marlins.mlb.com/mia/ticketing/special_events.jsp#nick  by scrolling down to Nickelodeon Night Supporting Young At Art. Seats will be located on the Lexus Legends level with direct access to all of the Nickelodeon activities.

“We are so thrilled to be awarded this partnership for the second year in a row,” said Young At Art Museum executive director and CEO Mindy Shrago. “Last year, we had a fantastic time and we look forward to enhancing and building on this great collaboration. All of us at YAA are so excited for ‘Fundraising with the Fish,’ and we hope all of our fans and Marlins fans come out to the ballpark on this very special Friday to support the Museum and the Miami Marlins.”

During YAA Day @ Marlins Park, Young At Art mascot YAYA will be in attendance with Marlins mascot Billy The Marlin. A silent auction with Marlins memorabilia will raise additional funds for Young At Art Museum and a 50/50 drawing will be held, for which fans can purchase a chance to win “half the pot” and the other half will be donated to the Museum. Families also will enjoy a special art activity, so join Young At Art and add your personal “stamp” to a Kenny Scarf-themed collaborative piece and make a YAA visor to wear during the game.

Marlins Charity Partners are selected at the beginning of the year and represent the Marlins’ philanthropic mission of investing in charitable organizations working in the area of education, the arts and baseball with a focus on children with special needs. As a Marlin Foundation Charity Partner, Young At Art will develop an Artist Residency Program for fourth grade students called MVP On-the-Go!, inspired by artist Kenny Scharf’s Playball! in Marlins Park. MVP On-the-Go! will benefit Marlins Ayudan Partner Schools and integrate art and literacy with the students’ enthusiasm for baseball.

Marlins Park is located at 501 Marlins Way (NW 16th Avenue) in Miami.
