Construction Update: Hurricane Hole Superyacht Marina at Paradise Landing’s Spectacular Reconstruction on Schedule for 2021 Completion

With a dramatically expanded perimeter and the first fixed T-docks installed, the magnificently re-imagined marina readies to welcome yachts before year’s end.

Sterling Global Financial, the developers of Hurricane Hole Superyacht Marina’s spectacular transformation and expansion, have confirmed that the famous harbor will be prepared to welcome yachts in time for the 2022 winter yachting season.

The Bahamas-based construction team skillfully removed the marina’s original barrier sea wall, allowing crews to dredge inland and dramatically expand the new superyacht marina’s perimeter to 2,812,071 square feet from its original 190,901 square feet.

In addition to extending the marina’s circumference, crews carefully dredged the basin to a depth of 14.5 feet from average low tide, making it one of the deepest marinas in the Caribbean. The redesigned marina will also feature a 240 foot wide turning basin, ideal for navigating larger superyachts.

“We are extremely pleased with the project,” said David Kosoy, Executive Chairman & Founder of Sterling Global Financial, the project’s developer, manager and owner, noting that construction is on track to begin welcoming superyachts by year’s end. “Our progress is a testament to our valued partnerships with local resources, our longstanding relationships with the Bahamian government and our respect for the marina’s rich history.”

Outfitted to the highest standards in quality and design, the totally rebuilt Hurricane Hole Superyacht Marina at Paradise Landing features docks up to 420 feet and 6,100 linear feet of fixed concrete T docks. Deep-water floating docks, custom manufactured by Bellingham Marine, are designed and built to handle tidal changes and provide optimal flexibility for superyachts, sportfishing boats and smaller vessels.

The specifically engineered metal and concrete sea walls have been installed to eliminate currents and to reduce wave action and potential storm surge. Working with Bahamas Power & Light, the marina’s developers made a substantial investment to upgrade the power infrastructure. Clean, reliable 400-amp, 480-volt power will be readily available for yachts, residences and commercial properties at Paradise Landing. The five-star marina will have 24-hour security and on-site Customs & Immigration services.

“Paradise Island’s newest master-planned marina community continues to create local jobs and economic opportunities for Bahamian-owned businesses,” said Khaalis Rolle, President of Sterling Advisory Services and former Bahamas Minister of State for Investments. “The teamwork I’ve witnessed has been exemplary and I commend the hardworking crews who help transform this dream into reality.”
